Well if so, allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Sharon Hughes and I am a Workshop Leader, Trainer, Facilitator and Coach. If you are interested in Developing a Bespoke Workshop or Training Event for your team I’d love to chat.
Working directly with you I can tailor a programme, class, session or workshop on a range of activities, depending on your needs locally.
As well as bespoke sessions I can also offer a range of topics that I love working with and that really engages people
I have over a decades experience delivering bespoke Training for various organisations.
As well as developing tailored workshops to suit an organisations needs, I also develop bespoke workshops on topics I come across in my Coaching. Some of my interests include:
‘Sharon was a pleasure to work with. I asked her to speak at an event being held during National Volunteer Week and she brilliantly tailored her content to support the topic at hand – ‘The Benefits of Volunteering on Mental Well-Being’. She was easy to communicate with and her sense of humour came through from our initial communication and throughout her presentation. She has a very likeable, bubbly personality and brought her own experiences into her presentation which was appreciated by those attending. She is an enthusiastic, intelligent professional who I would hire again in an instant.’
“Sharon worked incredibly well with our speakers, encouraging them to really interrogate their content and find the story within that would capture an audiences attention. Her inclusive and no nonsense attitude was well received and helped to level the room between very experienced speakers and novices”
“Sharon was extremely informative, clear and professional. Her workshop was inspiring for all involved and there was an approachable atmosphere where interaction was inspired throughout. The concept of Sharons classes got great interest from the student body and she was able confident on working with the crowd on the day. The talk was well thought out and well organised and DCU would recommend Sharon and her coaching services to anyone in need of motivation and organisation in their personal lives or careers.”
“Sharon worked with WFE since 2013. In that time she has been heavily involved in the design, promotion and implementation of a programme aimed at encouraging more women to participate in Leadership roles. Sharons training style is energetic and enthusiastic and her modules received a great response from participants. We look forward to working with her again in the future.”
“Sharon Hughes volunteered her time willingly to take part in two leadership events with The Wheel during 2018. Sharon’s personal stories, insight and practicality on the topic of coaching and mentoring was hugely appreciated by the participants , many of whom are struggling with the responsibilities of managing people. The honest insights expressed by Sharon and the reinforcement that we all need mentoring at different stages of career, life and around specific events, was significant for The Wheel members. I have very much enjoyed working with Sharon on these events and look forward to working more with her in the future.”
Sometimes a workshop is a great way to start a conversation that needs to be had that may be having trouble surfacing. As well as being a Trainer, after almost 20 years working in Politics I am also an accomplished Facilitator.
Whether you need a workshop designed to elicit a difficult conversation, or you just want someone to oversee the process, I am happy to work with you on this. We can meet in advance and you can explain your issue and I can recommend some options on how to proceed. Please contact me at email@example.com for more info.
Coaching can be delivered as a group process if you are working on a big team goal, or on a one-to-one basis.
One-to-one coaching opportunities provided for your staff are amazing for staff morale. Sessions can cover anything from planning for a Maternity Leave, designing a 5-year career plan or a retirement plan, working on a Personal Networking plan, anything at all.
I can work with you to arrange coaching for individual staff or I also offer a day rate where I can see a number of staff within the allotted time.
I screen recorded a copy of a workshop I delivered in 2018 on tips for self-managing your Anxiety.
The soft-spokeness is due to the sleeping child!
My most core value is balance; And I live that through all aspects of my life.
I am a Chief Executive Officer of a not-for-profit organisation based in Dublin. I can deliver training on many aspects of Career and Professional Development, helping your team to set big career goals, developing networking strategies, consider planning for retirement and money management, talk about teamwork, how to run a successful event or how to outsource; any of these ‘corporate’ topics.
AND I am a qualified and practising Life Coach. I am a woman and mother who is committed to living an emotionally and mentally healthy life in a way that service me and my family. I am committed to achieving financial freedom for my family and want to retire to the country. I can deliver workshops for your team on the ‘softer’ skills like vision boards, manifesting, dealing with anxiety, setting emotional boundaries, managing their limited time etc.
People are never one thing, my style of training not only acknowledges this but actively works to include both parts into the workshop.
I discovered a passion for delivering workshops in my early 20’s. At the time, most of what I delivered was completing in-house training to officers and staff, but I soon received requests and invites from other organisations in the not-for-profit sector. In the last decade I have delivered workshops and facilitated for the The Wheel, DIT Societies, IMPACT Trade Union, Union of Students in Ireland, Dublin City University Societies Office, Jobnet Jobseekers programme and Women for Election, to name a few.
I hold a Masters in Political Communications from Dublin City University as well as a Postgraduate Qualification in Events Management and Public Relations.
I am committed to my work as a Trainer and Workshop Leader and I have trained further, receiving my Train the Trainer FETAC certification as well as qualifying to become a registered member of the Teachers Council of Ireland.
I am a qualified and insured Business, Life and Career Coach.
We’ve all been to those workshops, the ones where you sit for hours and you’re not quite sure what it was about?
That’s not my style.
I value people’s time and attention. I aim to give a valid overview of a topic, make some local information connections, engage the audience in exercises, and leave them with clear tasks and actions to complete. I also value time in discussion with the participants as much as training, most often this is where an issue surfaces.
