Since I began Coaching and Training in 2012 I have had the privilege of working with some really fabulous people and on some really great projects. Here is what some of them had to say about working with me. I’ve also linked to some projects I’ve worked with.
“Sharon changed my life! I worked with Sharon for a series of life coaching sessions to help me make a shift in my career to a role more in line with my true self and skills. Before I met Sharon, I was having no luck getting interviews. After our first session I had an interview, after the third session I had a second interview and by the time our coaching was finished I was offered the job! Sharon taught me useful techniques that I still use to this day.
Sharon is an excellent coach, with a practical approach, supportive methodology and she always pushed me outside my comfort zone. She cares deeply about you on an individual level and knows how you can get the most out of your life. I would recommend (and have already done so!) Sharon to anyone who’s looking to make a change in their life. She’s simply an incredible, inspiring coach and she’s helped me get to where I am today, in an extremely fulfilling career!”
‘Sharon was a pleasure to work with. I asked her to speak at an event being held during National Volunteer Week and she brilliantly tailored her content to support the topic at hand – ‘The Benefits of Volunteering on Mental Well-Being’.
She was easy to communicate with and her sense of humour came through from our initial communication and throughout her presentation. She has a very likeable, bubbly personality and brought her own experiences into her presentation which was appreciated by those attending. She is an enthusiastic, intelligent professional who I would hire again in an instant.’

“Working with Sharon was a breath of fresh air. She provided public speaking training and content feedback for the TEDx event I was a speaker at. I found her no-nonsense approach to be the right balance of direct, practical and encouraging. She is energetic and enthusiastic and really believes in the people she is working, I felt she really “got me” and would welcome the opportunity to work with her again. If you need a positive, helpful good old kick-up-the-bum to make changes in your personal and/or professional life then I would highly recommend working with Sharon!”
Psychotherapist, TEDx Speaker and Author, 15 Minute Parenting
“Sharon coached me through a tricky career shift, giving me the perspective I needed to reshape my work situation. Her no-nonsense practicality combined with genuine enthusiasm and moxy delivers results. I came home from a 1-hour session with 15 new strategies and exercises to implement. In 60 minutes I felt a new sense of agency over my life direction. A month later, as I work my way through each of her suggestions, I’m seeing new opportunities emerge from each action I take. I have been singing her praises to everyone I meet. She’s the real deal!”
Fashion Writer, Author and Stylist, The Happy Closet
“Sharon Hughes volunteered her time willingly to take part in two leadership events with The Wheel during 2018. Sharon’s personal stories, insight and practicality on the topic of coaching and mentoring was hugely appreciated by the participants , many of whom are struggling with the responsibilities of managing people. The honest insights expressed by Sharon and the reinforcement that we all need mentoring at different stages of career, life and around specific events, was significant for The Wheel members.
I have very much enjoyed working with Sharon on these events and look forward to working more with her in the future.”
Director of Programmes; The Wheel
“Sharon worked with WFE since 2013. In that time she has been heavily involved in the design, promotion and implementation of a programme aimed at encouraging more women to participate in Leadership roles.
Sharons training style is energetic and enthusiastic and her modules received a great response from participants. We look forward to working with her again in the future.”
Co-Founder and Company Director; Women for Election
“Sharon was extremely informative, clear and professional. Her workshop was inspiring for all involved and there was an approachable atmosphere where interaction was inspired throughout. The concept of Sharons classes got great interest from the student body and she was able confident on working with the crowd on the day. The talk was well thought out and well organised and DCU would recommend Sharon and her coaching services to anyone in need of motivation and organisation in their personal lives or careers.”
President, DCU FemSoc
“Sharon worked incredibly well with our speakers, encouraging them to really interrogate their content and find the story within that would capture an audiences attention. Her inclusive and no nonsense attitude was well received and helped to level the room between very experienced speakers and novices”

As well as working with individuals I’ve also worked with a number of not-for-profit groups on projects I’ve been interested in, in both a paid and voluntary capacity. If you have a project you feel I may be a good fit for I would love to hear from you. Here is some of my work.
Here is a short video from a project I worked on with Women For Election in 2015. INFORM SU was a project aimed at encouraging more women to take up Leadership roles in college. It ran nationally with fantastic results.
My role in the project was to design the overall course content, develop module content and deliver modules in Universities across Ireland.
I was delighted to be asked by the organisers of this great event to work with their Speakers as Official Speaker Coach of the organisation. As well as facilitating a group session to help participants work on delivery, I also worked with the individuals on polishing their talks. It was a huge honour to work with so many motivated people. You can see their talks HERE
In 2017 I was delighted to be asked to be asked to contribute to an article with Maven 46. The article looked at things you should consider when building up a professional ‘Work Wardrobe’.
As part of my Career Coaching programme I usually cover the issue of a professional wardrobe with my client.
It’s a great resource for anyone looking at building a long-term Professional Wardrobe.
